CA Osasuna enter 2026/27 with a new head coach and a squad that has been strengthened without abandoning its established core.

Luis Miguel Ramis replaced Alessio Lisci after Osasuna secured survival on the final day of last season. Sergio Herrera, Lucas Torró, Jon Moncayola, Aimar Oroz and Ante Budimir remain central figures, but the supporting cast has changed.

Rubén García offers creativity and excellent set-piece delivery, while Moi Gómez can operate centrally or from wider areas. However, Moi is also currently injured. Asier Osambela provides another option and continues to earn senior minutes.

The deadline signing of Romain Del Castillo is therefore particularly useful. The French attacker can operate from the right, move inside and create chances through combinations rather than relying purely on pace.

He gives Ramis another technical player who can help when Aimar is unavailable or when Osasuna need additional creativity against a compact defence. The squad can function without Aimar. It simply becomes less naturally creative through the centre.

Raúl Moro provides direct pace and the ability to attack defenders one-on-one. Jonathan Dubasin offers a different profile. He is aggressive without the ball, attacks space well, and can operate across several attacking positions.

His versatility makes him useful whether Ramis plays with one striker or uses narrower supporting forwards. Kike Barja remains another natural wide option. Del Castillo increases the quality further once fully integrated.

Dubasin can attack space and press.
Barja offers direct running and familiarity with the club’s style.

Budimir Is Still the Major Attacking Dependency

Ante Budimir remains Osasuna’s most dependable source of goals. His movement inside the area, aerial ability and penalty-box instincts are difficult to replicate. He has already scored three of Osasuna’s five league goals this season, including both goals in the 5-2 defeat at Alavés.

Raúl García de Haro provides the natural alternative. Raúl works hard, competes physically and can lead the line, but the scoring record and penalty-box influence are not equivalent to Budimir’s.
